Mark Ruffalo in Talks to Hulk Out in The Avengers

See ya, Edward Norton … and hello Mark Ruffalo? That’s an affirmative, according to Deadline, who has the “Zodiac” actor in “final negotiations” to play Bruce Banner aka The Hulk in Joss Whedon’s upcoming “The Avengers”.

It seems like a good, safe choice, and given Marvel’s reasons for dumping Norton (read all about that here), Ruffalo is just unknown enough (but well-regarded enough as an actor) to not make waves in the ensemble picture. And given that The Hulk will be a major character, but Bruce Banner will be mostly relegated to a supporting role in “The Avengers”, the studio was probably looking for an actor who can blend into the background when he’s not smashing things up as the Hulk.

So, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. What do you think?
