Mark Wahlberg has never met an evil organization he couldn’t kick, punch, or shoot into submission. The actor has signed on to star and produce “The Disciple Program”, an action-thriller from newcomer Tyler Marceca. “Headhunters” director Morten Tyldum will make his Hollywood debut on the film, which has been set up at Universal after the studio won a bidding war for the hot spec script.
Wahlberg will play a man “who begins an investigation into his wife’s mysterious death, only to find that the mystery goes much deeper than he imagined.” I suspect that will include beating, threatening, and then killing lots of people. No one messes with Mark Wahlberg’s wife. NO ONE.
Morten Tyldum directed the Norwegian thriller “Headhunters”, starring “Game of Thrones'” Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The film has been making the rounds on the festival circuit, and recently opened in limited release Stateside back in April.
Wahlberg, coming off “Contraband”, will produce the film along with Steve Levinson.
