Marvel Adds Benicio Del Toro to Guardians of the Galaxy, Future Marvel Movies

Benicio Del Toro, last seen terrorizing Blake Lively in Oliver Stone’s “Savages”, may or may not be doing more terrorizing (though I’m guessing there will be some terrorizing involved, it is Del Toro, after all) on James Gunn’s soon-to-shoot “Guardians of the Galaxy”, which is currently set to begin production sometime this month across the pond in the good ol UK.

Guardians of the Galaxy Comic BookThere is no word on what role Del Toro will be playing, but it’s definitely not a one-and-doner, as the gig will require Del Toro appear in multiple Marvel movies.

My guess? Thanos.

I mean, it’s a pretty wild guess, but why not? I don’t think Thanos actually said a thing at the end of “The Avengers”, and it wouldn’t be new for Marvel to tease a character with one actor in the role only to give that same character a bigger role in a previous movie with another actor in the role.

I’m probably wrong, though.

Del Toro joins Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, Karen Gillan, and Glenn Close on the film, which would find Pratt playing a human pilot who gets himself involved in intergalactic space shenanigans involving aliens, space pirates, and whatnot.

Look for the Guardians of the Galaxy to save the day in 2014.

(Or maybe he’s going to be playing this guy?)

After thinking about it, with good enough make up and such he could do Thanos. His voice in SIn City with a bit of alteration could work.

Thanos? Unlikely! He’s too big of an actor to fill his face with heavy makeup.

    My guess is Doctor Strange.
