Comments on: Marvel and BET Team Up for Black Panther Animated Show

I’m wondering the same thing about this show. However I have to disagree with you about the quality of Marvel animation. If you’re mad all the shows don’t look like the 90’s X-men show then I have to wonder about your idea of good and crappy animation. Granted the show is still nice to look at and for it’s time the animation was great, but compared to shows like X-Men:Evolution, Wolverine and The X-men, Spectacular Spiderman and and even the newest iteration of Fantastic Four, the animation for that show pales in comparison. You may not like the style of the art, or the character design for every show (with FF and Spectacular SPidey being the most stylized) but the animation quality is great. The action is kinetic, in your face and in some cases we get some nice new looks for old charatcers. I love the 90’s X-men but I think the actual animation for the newer X-series has been better, and I think Spec Spidey is simply amazing and I’m hoping now that Disney bought Marvel they will pic it up and continue it for another season.

When is it coming out-and why are they making all the new cartoons so crappy? The old X-men show of the early 90’s was promising, but since then it’s like everybody’s going Disney on us: wtf??

This series is going to be good, it looks exactly like the art the creator did. And BET and marvel together, wow, that’s good, now no one can say marvel is racist like some people do.

I saw the trailer for the black panther cartoon on BET. I think it sucks. It reminds me of the 1965 marvel comics cartoon they use of the Thor. It was too stiff. They need hire a better animator.

This is really great, for Panther fans and BET itself. Black Panther is undoubtedly the greatest black superhero and should shine in some other form other than comics. And, perhaps more interestingly, BET will be gaining a significant number of white viewers.

I was talking about BET's Black Panther show over on Highbrid Nation. I honestly feel like its one of the best ideas to come out of BET in a long time. Let's face it over the last few years BET has become nothing more than "MTV starring black people". And MTV really isn't the best model for a network to follow. I plan to keep an eye on how this develops. Could it signal a change in the direction of BET?...lol probably not.
