Been wondering when Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will kick off the start of production? Well wonder no more, wonderers. Marvel has officially announced the commencing of principal photography on their “Captain America” sequel today, and released the above image for your perusal pleasure.

From the sounds of the synopsis below, it looks like the Captain will be teaming up with the Black Widow for the sequel. Makes sense, given the film’s Russian-themed storyline:

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

The film will shoot in Los Angeles, California, before moving onto locations in Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington D.C.

Brothers Anthony and Joe Russo (“Welcome to Collinwood”) will direct from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Chris Evans returns as the good Captain, along with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. We also now know that Robert Redford will play a character name Agent Alexander Pierce, described as “a senior leader within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization.”

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” battles enemies overseas and abroad this April 4, 2014.

Me either! The concept art is sick!!

We really need some Hawkeye in here though… He needs a little bit of a chance to show off how awesome he is !!!

I actually think it’d be better for him to show up in Agent of SHIELD and Avengers 2. But yeah he should be there too, but he’s got Falcon in his cornere and Sharon Carter.

I see what you mean, it’s just weird too see him shop up only for The Avengers movies (cause i don’t think most people will put 2 and 2 together, and realise that was him and Thor). I’d like for them to show how him and Natasha are The Black Ops Team that Shield uses when things are getting bad. His introduction in The Avengers was good, but i’d like him to get more development. I want his past to stay mysterious, but at least show how he interacts with Natasha, Fury and Maria Hill… And how does he feel about Choulson dying !!!!!!!

You’d be surprised what people put together. They do refer to him by name in Thor. But yeah i’d like to see how he responded to that, but he did have A LOT going on at the time, what with just coming out of mind control. But being a high ranking agent, I’m sure he and Natasha knew about Coulson and therefor just showed Cap, Thor and Tony’s reaction. But yeah he and Widow are actually part of a SHIELD team like that. So I’d love for a thre part episode that’s like all Hawkeye and Natasha and maybe even Falcon.

I guess your right, some people might have caught the whole Barton thing… True, it was a pretty hectic time for him, was’nt it. I’d love to see that too, a little mini series of them going on Black Ops missions… Or just make a Shield Movie which could also shed some light on the whole Budapest story…
