Yah. There are now teaser trailers for TV spots. Why not? There have been teaser trailers for teaser trailers for at least a couple of years now, why not go ahead and tease 30-second TV spots, too?
In this Super Bowl TV spot for Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers”, you get roughly 10 seconds of footage. If the TV spot itself only runs 30 seconds (each 30-second spot during the game costs what, $5 million or so now?), then you’ve just seen 33% of what the Super Bowl spot has in store for you. I actually like it. Then again, there have been so few “Avengers” stuff in terms of actual footage, that even this little bit leaves me satisfied. Kinda sad, right?
In “The Avengers”, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Clark Gregg, and Cobie Smulders team up to battle the menace of Loki (Tom Hiddleston). The battle commences May 4, 2012.
Watch the full spot during the Super Bowl this Sunday. (The Patriots are playing the Giants, in case you care.)
