“Your own TV show, Son of Coul? You’ve done well for yourself!”

Hey, fans of Marvel Universe crossovers, it looks like those clever dogs at Marvel are at it again. This time they’re crossing over their upcoming movie “Thor: The Dark World” with their TV property, “Agents of SHIELD”. Plans have apparently been laid to have the events of “The Dark World” somehow impacting on the Marvel U via “SHIELD” by way of the November 19th episode, to be called “The Well”.

In that episode…

In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World,” Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces–one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.

“The Well” was written by Monica Owusu-Breen and directed by Jonathan Frakes (of “Star Trek” fame, now a pretty prolific director of TV and movies).

It will feature guest stars Peter MacNicol as Professor Elliot Randolph, Michael Graziadei as Jakob Nystrom, Erin Way as Petra Larsen, Toby Wilson as Neils, Alex Neustaedter as Maynard, and Sylvia Brindis as Elena.

“The Well” airs this November 19th on ABC, while “Thor: The Dark World” opens Stateside this November 8th.

Cool Stories From Zergnet

I haven’t seen LThe Dark World yet so I have no clue at this point if this would even be a pssibility but I’d love it if the events opened up a story arc to include The Wrecking Crew.

Interesting. But Wrecking Crew is now where to be found in Dak World. That said, some enchanted tools would definitely be something that could be fallout. But we shall see. Asgard, I’m coming for ya this weekend!!!

      • Juggernaut

That was what I was thinking. Maybe Coulson and company are told about a discarded relic left by the invasion of the Dark Elves In Thor 2. Also en route to the scene is Dr. Franklin, a member of the shadow operation that is responsible for the centipede technology seen in the other episodes.
A construction crew worker named Dirk Garthwaite (Wrecker) discovers the artifact during the clean up after the events of The Dark World. He tries to exhume the alien structure by using a crowbar to no avail. Still struggling he enlists the aid of two coworkers, Camp and Calusky. Finally they unearth the embedded object which unleashes a surge of power. The blast sends the men flying. As they slowly regain consciousness it is evident that their demeanor has changed. Also effected is Dr. Franklin who was standing nearby. The four men, brainwashed and empowered set out on a mission of devastation through the city. Only the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. can stop the carnage left by…THE WRECKING CREW!

That’d be a great way to do it. Sadly I think you may be reaching. lol

          • Juggernaut

Yep. It isn’t going to happen but it would be cool.
That would be a way to bring other superheroes out of hiding too! After seeing that S.H.I.E.L.D. is unable to stop the The Wrecking Crew from destroying the city heroes begin to emerge to stop the threat. They could introduce a new hero each episode for a multi-episode arc. After the villains are brought into the jail that SHIELD has created for super powered threats a few of the heroes could dissapear back into the woodwork not wanting to be known and a few could stay on and have their backstories unfold over the course of the show. They could be members of a lesser know team like The Secret Warriors, Power Pack, Defenders, Champions or better yet The Thunderbolts!!! Then the next season could reveal that they are actually Zemo and the rest of the members of the Masters Of Evil!

  • Aegon the Conqueror

What I’m a bit miffed about is a I wish the show would stop introducing new villians or heroes, and use those that already exists in Marvel cannon. Like what they did with Gravitron.

    • Juggernaut

      Absolutely!
I just had a conversation about that the other day. It’s the same as when they wasted the opportunity to include existing mutants in X-Men: The Last Stand during the attack on Alcatraz island! There are a plethora of characters at their disposal, why do they feel the need to create new ones?! Use what ya’ got! I can see Agents Of SHIELD eventually bringing in more preexisting characters throughout the shows run but now is the time. If they want to secure a fan base they need to infuse the show with elements and characters from the comics to keep the audience interested. In that regard Marvel should be taking notes from Arrow. Every week they bring in another villain, ally or easter egg an that keeps things fun and exiting for the fans of the comics, who in all reality are the one watching these shows predominantly anyway.

Again it’s likeI said in my second SHIELD write up. This is about SHIELD, not the heroes we want to see. We’ll get that in whatever shows they decide to make next year, but this is trying to concentrate on the world that has changed since Avengers. Arrow is a completely different beast. It’s stand alone (except for setting up a Flash show) and it can do with characters what they choose and build that world. SHIELD is kinda dovetailing off of the MCU and therefore has to try and make it’s own way. I think for the first season it should build towars some of the things you guys are wanting and such, but it needs time to build this world so it can kind of stand on it’s own and THEN bring in the lesser nown characters. If anything this show should reintroduce Hydra, or U.T.I.M.A.T.U.M. or even Zodiac in some form referencing the Agent Carter short. The idea I had of going back and forth telling a story in the past and present involving Carter, Dugan and Howard Stark with early days of SHIELD and then Coulson’s team now would be an amazing way to tell great stories and not focus on heroes and such. There is much more to Marvel than heroes and villains. if they are going to bring in people from the comics bring in SHIELD people. Then you can bring in cameo heroes.

        • Aegon the Conqueror

I don’t have a problem with that, what I have a problem with is them introducing new heroes and villains that do not exist in the comics. You want a black guy with super strength that has a dark brooding demeanor, why not use Luke Cage?
If they are normal average human beings, sure that’s one thing. But i’m specifically referring to super powered heroes and villains.

          • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

But that’s the point, they aren’t supposed to be heroes. They’re supposed to be regular people that have been affected by circumstances. This isn’t about just throwing any powered person on the show. If they had used Luke Cage in the pilot then it would’ve been a completely different story and not have started the Centipede plot, which i actually think is good.

          • Aegon the Conqueror

Ok scratch luke, there are so many c and d class characters you can use. Like what arrow did with bronze tiger a few weeks back. Btw still waiting for your thoughts of arrow and tomorrow people.

          • Juggernaut

I agree. They could have used Rage or Triathalon or somebody. But no. Instead we got generic super dude. It would have been much cooler.
