Want all six Marvel movies on a Blu-ray collection to end all Blu-ray collections? Well, it’s going to cost you $189.99 (plus shipping and handling). That’s if you pre-order it now. That comes to $31.67 for each title, give or take a buck or two per. The good news is that you also get Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers” in that package. The bad news? It’s still $31 bucks for each movie, some of which you probably already own.
But that’s apparently only the Limited Edition “Gift Set” for the release, currently taking pre-orders at Marvel’s official pre-order site for the title. Amazon, meanwhile, also has a “Limited Edition” version (though they don’t call it a “Gift Set”) going for $152.99, which comes out to the much more manageable (but still a tad expensive) $25.50 per title.
The set, of course, comes with six movies on 10 discs, along with Whedon’s “The Avengers”, the biggest movie of 2012. Or at least, until “The Dark Knight Rises” opens. That is going to be quite the epic battle at the box office between those two big boys, that’s for sure.
Or hey, if all you really want is “The Avengers” on 3D Blu-ray (in a whoppin’ 4-disc combo set), you can just pre-order it now from Amazon.com for the price of $34.99.
And speaking of which, here’s the trailer for “The Avengers” Blu-ray release:
