Marvel’s Short Film The Consultant Arrives Online in its Entirety

Gregg Clark in The Consultant Short Film

And it’s, well, yeah, it’s what you expected for the most part, with a few minor additional details to flesh out the whole storyline. If you can call it that. Basically, it’s still just two guys sitting in a diner talking about doing something, but not actually doing it themselves. Anyways, you can now take a look at the whole 3-minute short film below.

The short itself was packed with the “Thor” DVD/Blu-ray release this September 13, 2011 as an extra for fans, but as you can see, someone already got their hands on it and have released it online. Hey, it’s the day and age of the Internet, this stuff happens. A lot.

Well, it was nice to see them tie up a few loose ends…

I liked it…..a nice little glimpse into the Marvel Cinematic Universe away from the capes and the melodrama. I think Culson should have his own little web series full of these leading up to the Avengers a la MORTAL KOMBAT: LEGACY…..

Agreed. I’d also like to see some of these in between movies like after Avenger but before Thor 2, Cap 2 and Iron Man 3 to let us know what’s happened since Avengers so they don’t have to keep doing camels, though I don’t mind those.

A few of these sprinkled throughout would be awesome. We need a full fledged S.H.I.E.L.D. movie too!

A S.H.I.E.L.D. movie would rock but it can’t be about supervillains but a large terrorist cell with some super powered operatives. That’d give them leeway to use powered agents like Ms. Marvel, Quasar, or even versions of his current Group of Secret Warriors.
          Sent on the go!

            S.H.I.E.L.D VS. A.I.M. !!!
I’d love to see Mr. Fix, Modok and others on the big screen. This would be the best way to bring them in.
As for the One-Shot, I love the way that even back as far as IM2 they were setting up this whole universe. Awesome!

They were setting this up with IRON man and Incredible. And as for A.I.M. and M.O.D.O.K. Cap screenwriter Chris Marks wants him too. Matter of fact his choice for the role was none other than Peter Linkage! That’d rock. Here’s my pitch, a top scientist at A.I.M. is hated for his genius and ridiculed for his stature. A rival scientist tries to have Jim killed but instead he is severely injured. Wanting to keep his genius level intellect A.I.M. uses tech to keep him alive, merging his brain with the A.I. program he created. Thinking they now have the perfect super computer to run their operations M.O.D.O.C. (Mental Organism Designed only for Control) is born. However the scientist’s personality overrides the A.I. and he takes control of A.I.M. killing anyone who stand in his way. After upgrading his weapons and realizing the accident also gave him picnic abilities he redubbs himself M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing)

@Dedpool- I heard about Dinklage for MODOK too! Good choice. I like your synopsis too. Rooted in the comics but a few changes to bring it into the cinematic realm. Having him start as a SHIELD scientist would be cool too.

It would be a set up for a SHIELD 2 movie but here is my synopsis for bringing in MODOK,

I’d have George Tarleton (his alter ego) and Hank Pym be partners on a new tech for SHIELD. Pym takes the sole credit for inventing it and incorporates it into a new project codename: Ultron. That would also show Pym’s douchey side. Tarleton is disgraced and fired. He becomes bitter and bent on revenge. Soon after Allesandro Brannex (Super-Adaptoid), head of a newly formed, privately funded organization called AIM recruits him to work on their new MODOC program. After an accident he is kept alive by Brannex and the scientist at AIM to complete their work. Now totally insane, Tarleton fuses with the A.I. of the MODOC tech and kills Brannex and the rest of the AIM team. He takes over AIM and converts it into a terrorist cell devoted to destroying Pym and SHIELD calling himself MODOK (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing). An after credits stinger could reveal that the private funding was coming from HYDRA!

Holy shit The Abomination is still alive???? Is he gonna be in The Avengers?!

I knew it would be a “bottle show” but surprised they didn’t whip out Jeremy Renner or Cobie Smulders for a cameo. And oh yeah, can’t wait for what I hope is the inevitable stand-alone SHIELD movie with some proper screen time for Clark Gregg and Sam Jackson.
