For a film with such a ridiculous title and an even more ridiculous premise (let’s face it, this is the kind of movie idea guys with $1,000 bucks and too much time on their hands and plenty of willing friends usually churn out as a goof), Timur Bekmambetov’s “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” will either be the goofiest movie of 2012 or the coolest. Right now, I can’t be sure, though adding this latest castmember certainly doesn’t hurt from a sex appeal perspective.
With Benjamin Walker already onboard as the titular vamp killer, Dominic Cooper as his mentor, and Anthony Mackie as his best bud, Bekmambetov’s “Vampire Hunter” has now added Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“The Thing”) as Mary Todd, Abe’s wife.
Based on the book by Seth Grahame-Smith, “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” posits the Civil War-era Prez as a fearsome vampire hunter. Yeah, like I said, either the goofiest movie of 2012, or the coolest.
