Rza is man who loves his kung-fu movies. You probably gathered that from the fact that he’s part of the Wu-Tang Clan, who have a tendency to name albums after particularly noteworthy genre offerings. When it was announced he was making one of his own, everyone was like, “oh, that’ll be interesting,” and we promptly heard nothing about it for a long time. Now there’s a release date, we’ve got a couple trailers, posters, and as of today, more than a dozen photos for Rza’s directorial debut, “The Man With the Iron Fists”.
Collecting a badass cast that includes Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Dave Bautista, Pam Grier, Jamie Cheung, Rick Yun, Daniel Wu, and Byron Man, “Iron Fists” promises to be an out of control, magical action mash up.
“The Man With the Iron Fists”:
tells the epic story of warriors, assassins and a lone outsider hero in nineteenth-century China who must unite to destroy the clan traitor who would destroy them all.
Since his arrival in China’s Jungle Village, the town’s blacksmith (RZA) has been forced by radical tribal factions to create elaborate tools of destruction. When the clans’ brewing war boils over, the stranger channels an ancient energy to transform himself into a human weapon. As he fights alongside iconic heroes and against soulless villains, one man must harness this power to become savior of his adopted people.
Produced by Quentin Tarantino and co-written by Eli Roth, “The Man With the Iron Fists” opens November 2.
