Max Payne Movie Starts Shooting in March

Written by Nix | February 1st, 2008 | 0 Comments |

Man, 2008 is definitely shaping up to be the year of the Wahlberg. I swear, Mark Wahlberg has been attached to just about every other movie coming out of Hollywood this year. Or maybe it’s just my imagination. In any case, another movie Wahlberg has been attached to lead is the big-screen movie version of the popular game “Max Payne”, which according to IGN, is scheduled to start shooting in early March.

More:

Shooting on Max Payne will officially get underway in just over a month, on March 2 in Toronto, according to details newly made available on the ProductionCharts.com website. The shoot is currently scheduled to wrap on May 9.

John Moore, whose most recent projects include the war actioner Behind Enemy Lines, the horror remake The Omen, and the airborne adventure Flight of the Phoenix, is directing from a script by Beau Thorne.

I’m a fan of the game, and hope they do a good job with this. Although after three “Matrix” films and a slew of imitations, bullet-time sure won’t look quite as novel as it did when the game first came out.

Personally, I’m still waiting for “Max Payne 3″ (if they ever get around to making it, that is)…
