This is the story of the other guys, the desk jockeys, the guys who only wish that they were the guys patrolling the streets. That’s the basic premise behind “The Other Guys”, a comedy from director Adam McKay that turns the buddy cop picture on its head. McKay teams up with Will Ferrell again, having both worked together previously on “Anchorman”, “Talladega Nights”, and “Step Brothers”. Unlike their previous films, “The Other Guys” is supposed to be more action and less zaniness. The premise makes the main characters out to be a brand of loser cops, which is why it’s strange that Will Ferrell plays desk officer opposite Mark Wahlberg, who is usually known for tough guy roles and looks bulkier and less glaucoma-ridden next to the ill-dressed Ferrell.
Along with Wahlberg and Ferrell, the movie certainly flexes its muscle with an all-star cast. Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson play the cops who see all of the action. Also appearing are Michael Keaton, Rob Riggle, Damon Wayans Jr., and Eva Mendes (who has had roles playing the wife or lover to the cop in the past). You can see a few pictures below, but the blog Accidental Sexiness (yes, that is a blog) has about twenty of them from the set itself.
