Today’s totally unsubstantiated and completely unverifiable movie casting rumor comes to you courtesy of some site called Europapress via the boys over at Latino Review, who apparently understands enough espanol to translate the original article as saying that Megan Fox is being “looked at” to replace Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft in a third “Tomb Raider” movie. Yes, they’ve made two of these movies so far. The first one was kinda okay, but the second one was universally derided as being crap. But at least it had Angelina Jolie in a tight form-fitting outfit, so I’m sure that lessened the taste of bile you were tasting when you watched it.
A third movie in the “Tomb Raider” franchise, incidentally, has not been officially greenlit, and one wonders why they wouldn’t try to get Jolie back if it was, as she seems highly inclined to do such blockbuster movies (ala “Wanted” and, um, the first two “Tomb Raider” movies). But then again, maybe they’re going to do one of those prequels. Those are extremely popular with creatively bankrupt and youth-whoring Hollywood these days, doncha know.
So, Megan Fox as Lara Croft. Probably.
Okay, probably not true in the least. But one can dream, can’t one?
