Well of course this is the start of a whole new “Transformers” trilogy. What self-respecting movie director/producer of genre movies would start shooting a film thinking it was the one and only? Pfft. Not in today’s world, chum.
Anyways. Michael Bay, writing on his official site, has officially added Irish lad Jack Reynor to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in his upcoming “Transformers 4”. Besides the casting of Reynor, who Bay says “came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket”, the Bayster also announces the start of a new trilogy of films.
Transformers 4, is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net.
This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.
Not a reboot. First of a new trilogy. Gotcha.
Reynor is likely playing the boyfriend of a new young female character who is also Mark Wahlberg’s daughter. He’s a bit old to be playing a teenage boyfriend, so perhaps the daughter will also be in her early ’20s. And look hot in a mini-skirt, no doubt.
