The Michael Bay-produced, Jonathan Liebesman-helmed “Ninja Turtles” (aka the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot) has filled in the remaining three actors to complete their ninja foursome.
Deadline reports that Pete Ploszek will play Leonardo, Jeremy Howard will play Donatello and Noel Fisher will play Michaelangelo. If you know any of these three guys, or have seen them somewhere before, good for you, cause I haven’t a clue who any of them are.
The trio joins the previously cast Alan Ritchson as Raphael and Michael Bay’s erstwhile nemesis Megan Fox as April O’Neil, the boys’ human comrade/purchaser of pizzas.
Up next: Splinter. And Shredder. Or whoever ends up playing the villains.
Instead of putting the actors in suits, the Turtles will instead be realized using mo-cap similar to “Avatar”, with the film set for June 6, 2014.
Paramount and Bay are envisioning a new franchise, of course. Given that the original Turtles already did launch a franchise in multiple media, I guess that wouldn’t be such a hard gig to pull off. Whether the fanboys show up, though, is another matter.
The kids and family, though, will definitely be there. How can you possibly say no to a punch of fighting ninja turtles from outer space?
And of course, I can’t possibly do a “Ninja Turtles” post without adding this (it’s like a law or sumthin’):
