Michael Fassbender Joins Noomi Rapace on Ridley Scott’s Prometheus

Hey look, it’s Michael Fassbender! And he’s joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” aka “The Movie Formerly Known as the Aliens Prequel”!

Fassbender, currently playing a younger version of Ian McKellen’s Magneto in Matthew Vaughn’s “X-Men: First Class”, will play an android to Noomi Rapace’s ship’s captain in “Prometheus”. Now if you know anything about the “Alien” films, then you know that the android is a pretty big role. Of course, we’re not talking about an “Alien” movie anymore, so it remains to be seen how big of a role Fassbender’s artificial man will have.

Besides starring in “First Class”, Fassbender was also previously attached to Universal’s “Snow White and the Huntsman”, but now that he’s booked “Prometheus”, that role would seem to have gone bye-bye. Of course, he could always pull a Sam Worthington, so who knows.

“Prometheus”, meanwhile, has just gotten an official June 8, 2012 release date.

'Hey look, it's Michael Fassbender!'

At this point, the only way this movie could get more interesting is if Fassbender and Rapace are made up as they are in the pics above
