Michael Jai White is Gamble in The Dark Knight

David Banner may have been such a comic book geek that he named himself after the Incredible Hulk’s human alter ego, but that still didn’t get him the part of Gamble in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming “The Dark Knight” (last reported here). According to Dark Horizon, the winner of the Gamble sweepstakes is Michael Jai White, late of “Spawn”, but more recently, the jailbird boxing (and direct-to-video) movie “Undisputed 2”. I was wrong when I theorized that the Gamble part had to be a small role, since it’s looking like it could be a pretty big one, at least from the description below.

According to producers, Gamble is the head of one of the competing gangs trying to fill the void in Gotham’s criminal underworld since the demise of Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson) in ‘Begins’.

Sal Maroni (Eric Roberts) has taken control of the rest of the Falcone families holdings, while the mysterious costumed anarchist bank robber known as “The Joker” (Heath Ledger) represents a new breed of criminal element in Gotham.

You gotta love that Joker.
