Consider Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows” movie moving forward at full speed. After what seemed like a lot of endless (and fruitless) talks about doing the movie with his buddy Johnny Depp over the years, Burton’s movie is now well on its way to moving into production, with a slew of casting that includes Depp in the lead, along with additions Jackie Earle Haley, Eva Green and Bella Heatcote.
Now you can add Burton’s Catwoman from “Batman Returns”, Michelle Pfeiffer to the cast. The actress is said to be in negotiations to join the movie.
Pfeiffer would play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, described as “the reclusive matriarch of the Collins family which runs the Maine town. The character has not left the mansion since the disappearance of her husband a decade earlier.” Joan Bennett played the role in the ’60s original TV series, with Jean Simmons taking over in the ’90s revival.
Depp, of course, would take the lead as Barnabas Collins, “a self-loathing vampire living in a Maine manor who is searching for his lost love.”
