Michelle Rodriguez Refuses to Stay Dead in Movies

In 2002’s “Resident Evil”, Michelle Rodriguez played Rain Ocampo, one of those badass female commando types that seem tailor-made for Michelle Rodriguez. Rain, well, didn’t exactly make it out of the first movie alive. In fact, her death was pretty glorious. Well, deaths, anyway. See, she died, became a zombie, then died again. (Below)

Enter “Resident Evil: Retribution”, the upcoming fifth entry in the never-say-die zombie/action franchise, where Michelle Rodriguez’s return has been confirmed by Bloody-Disgusting.

Hey, it’s a zombie franchise. I suppose bringing the dead back to life (or life-ish, anyway) isn’t too much of a stretch. Anyways, weren’t there like a gazillion Alice clones running around last we checked? Clones, zombies, and out-of-nowhere sibling reunions seem to be a common occurrence in the “Resident Evil” universe. And anyways, bringing Rodriguez back for “RE” makes more sense than her impending return in a certain movie franchise about fast cars going really furiously. Which begs the question: does this mean she’ll be back for “Avatar 2”, too?

In any case, Rodriguez re-joins franchise star Milla Jovovich, once again back as zombie-fightin, Umbrella corporation-hinderin’ Alice, Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine, and Boris Kodjoe as survivor Luther. BD also reports that Umbrella mastermind Albert Wesker (played by Shawn Roberts), last seen blown to smithereens in “Resident Evil: Afterlife” will also be back.

Death, it just ain’t what it used to be…
