Milla Jovovich to Chase The 4th Kind

Model turned cinematic ass kicker Milla Jovovich (pictured, left) has decided to give up fighting an unending horde of zombies for fighting the freezing cold of Alaska to headline the thriller “The 4th Kind” for Gold Circle Films. The thriller will mark the directorial debut of writer Olatunde Osunsanmi, whose biggest credit so far has been as a former assistant to “Smokin’ Aces” director Joe Carnahan. Wow, really? That’s all you need to get put in charge of a big Hollywood movie nowadays? Anyways, more about the movie below.

The Hollywood Reporter:

Although project details are being kept under wraps, it is described as a fact-based thriller involving an ongoing unsolved mystery in Alaska, where one town has seen an extraordinary number of unexplained disappearances during the past 40 years and there are accusations of a federal cover-up.

Jovovich plays a woman investigating the disappearances in the town.

Who knew Alaska would become such a popular spot for movies? This is the third movie in 2008 to be set in Alaska, including Kate Beckinsale’s “Whiteout” and the formerly John Singleton-helmed “Executive Order: Six”. It must be the cold, because it sure ain’t the convenience.

And hey, if Jovovich decides to pick up her zombie fighting gear again and stars in “Resident Evil 4″, wouldn’t that movie, too, be set in Alaska? Wasn’t that where the survivors were headed at the end of the third installment?
