Mirrors Red Band Trailer is Actually Decent

With Alexandre Aja behind the camera, I knew the new Kiefer Sutherland horror flick “Mirrors” had to be better than what we previously saw in the very, very weak teaser trailer. The full trailer, and a red band one at that, definitely looks better, although I have to say, it re-uses too much of the “guy looks in mirror, looks away, and the mirror reflection is revealed to have a life of its own” gimmick; after a while, kids might start playing drinking games whenever this happens, since it seems to happen a heck of a lot in the 2-minute trailer; I can only imagine how many times Aja is going to rely on it in the actual movie. I hope I’m wrong.

In any case, red band trailer for “Mirrors” below. It’s bloody and cool, and looks like it even freaked out Jack Bauer. Just shoot it, Jack.

An ex-cop (Sutherland) and his family are the target of a evil force that is using mirrors as a gateway into their home.

Opens August 15.

Gore looks good, but the trailer shows too much of the movie.I like Amy Smart, but giving away that she is killed take some of the fun of watching the kills for the very fist time.I hate it when trailers give away too much of the story, and with every new trailer I feel that some of the magic is lost.Think about the first Saw or Hostel movie,by the time the movies were released we had seen nearly every kill scene in the trailers,no suspense left at all, noting to do but hoping the rest of the scenes made the movies flow in a natural way.

It sounds like Kiefer Sutherland has fixed his breathing problem, meaning his way of talking in movies. It all started in the movie Dark City(1998),where he talked like he had a shortness of breath, quite annoying when you know of this acting “bug”.The 24 series had him over do his “new” way of acting,God knows why he think it`s nessesary to talk that way, perhaps he think it makes him sound tough? It made me stop watching 24 half way into the first season.
