First of all, sorry to everyone who stumbled across this site while Googling the words “Monica Bellucci” and “sex”, you pervs. Anyways, Italian beauty Monica Bellucci has joined the cast of the Canada-Germany co-production “The Whistleblower”, along with Vanessa Redgrave, David Strathairn, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Anna Anissimova (pictured, left). There is no word on what roles the new castmembers will play, though Anissimova is listed as playing a character name Superna on IMDB.com.
“The Whistleblower” is written by Larysa Kondracki and Ellis Kirwan (with Kondracki directing), and is the true-life story of Kathryn Bolkovac (Weisz), a Nebraska Detective who volunteers to go to Bosnia to investigate sex crimes in the aftermath of the country’s civil war. Instead, she uncovers a sex trafficking ring and a cover-up by high-ranking UN officials.
Filing commences on October 26 in Bucharest, Romania for a 2010 release.
