Well it was good enough for me too. Saya is indeed kickass and her katana rules.

Of course there are some details about the live-action that I wasn’t fond of (the half-human/half-vampire ordeal) and of course the Onigen. The story they made up for that is just bizarre.

Anyway, like I said, it’s worth a watch in my opinion just so you can conjure up your own. I would give it a 7/10 overall.

Okay guys here’s my idea or stint about Blood and it’s follow-ups. B:TLV (l-a) doesn’t really follow through with the original anime version. I share the same thoughts as Balian. Nothing is really the same. B:TLV (anime) and B+ have more similarities of course but they are set in two different time zones. From there I kinda put my thoughts and ideas that they are connected and are linear rather than two different universes. Although I watched B+ first and then B:TLV. I agree that the movie isn’t going to be that great (I’ve already seen it) due to the comparison to the original but it looked awesome and the action was tolerant. You should watch it when it comes to theatres July 12, 09 (from what I know).

…you guys do realize that they never got around to actually finishing the blood: the last vampire movie. as for the different story lines, they are supposed to be in different universes – the manga does that as well. also, she’s supposed to be meeting another chiropteran (something about being related).anyways, i heard the movie should be coming out this year in japan and the u.k. and it’ll be called “last blood.” no release date yet for the u.s. but it’ll hopefully be by next year. judge it then.

How could they take it out? This feature wasn’t invented until much later (when the series was produced).
Let’s just consider this whole Blood thing as 4 completely different universes. Yes, they share the same main character, but apart from that, there are too many differences to put them into the same canon (except for maybe the manga and Blood: the Last Vampire[anime]).

yeah look man all of you have it backwards this movie is not based on the anime tv series it is bad on the anime movie “blood: the last vampire” which is a prequel to the tv series. David in this is the father of David in the tv series and yes i have to say after watching the tv series i was pisssed to find out the prequel took out the fact that they ned sayas blood it actually ruins most of the story for anime unles the goi and re write the anime so that the blood isnt needed. Anyway sorry about the grammar and spelling but i dont care enough to write proper english or correct my typos.

i have to say that ive got mixed feelings about this. i mean, Balian is right, the facts are almost nothing alike that of the original anime. one of the biggest problems the red shield faces is that sayas blood is the ONLY way to kill the chiropterans, not by just making them lose large amounts of blood at one time. then you have saya killing the onigen person at the base, WTF!? like balian said, saya only killed the three people/chiropterans at the base, not some onigen fellow. then we get to saya befriending the human girl. there was no human girl at the base, it was just saya and the three others. if the entire movie is like this then i would have to say its a failure. but if they change it and make it follow the storyline ofblood tlv then i think it has some potential.

That still wouldn’t explain the have-to-lose-enough-blood versus her-blood-is-the key killing techniques (for example the last szene with Saya in Blood: The Last Vampire gets a whole diferent meaning if you saw the series) or the difference in Saya’s strength. Or Haji who’d never leave her side but isn’t anywhere to be seen.

Balian, I can’t say I await this movie without mixed feelings, but you got to clear up for yourself what the “original” is. Blood – The Last Vampire has quite a few facts different from Blood +, so much so that it’s difficult to put them into the same universe at all. (like the fact that David is obviously much older in Blood – TLV, but the scenery doesn’t look like 2030)
Just changing canon isn’t going to ruin the movie for me – although the story does look like a threat.

Dude, this movie is going to suck………so….much. This is a disgrace to the original movie. The plot bears no resemblance to the original at all. First off, according to the tv show, she was born in 1833, making her about 130 at the time of the movie. The setting itself is changed to take place about 10 years later than the original. They changed her into a half-vampire instead of a full one. It appears that they have completely removed the fact that Saya’s blood is the only thing that can kill the vampires. Oh, and what is this bullshit about Onigen. Where the fuck did that come from. The original was just about Saya killing these three chiropterans around the military base. There was no damn Onigen. And she didn’t befriend anyone at the base. The one and only similarity is that it’s at a military base. This movie will suck ass and will be a complete disgrace to the original and they need to die for their horrible crime.

Can’t wait for the live-action version..I screamed & scared a lot of people when I found out.lol.I hope the chick playing Saya does a really great job..looks good so far.>^_^<
