More Cogan’s Trade Casting News. This Time It’s Ray Liotta Joining The Team

After it came out last night that Vincent Curatola (“The Sopranos”) joined the cast of Andrew Dominick’s crime thriller “Cogan’s Trade”, there is even more casting news. Ray Liotta is joining a cast that already includes Brad Pitt, Sam Rockwell, Casey Affleck, James Gandolfini, and more.

Liotta will play Mark “Markie” Trattman, the unfortunate hustler who runs the game in a motel room and finds things only going downhill from there.

This is much more interesting than Liotta playing an evil wizard.

“Cogan’s Trade” is based on the 1974 novel by George V. Higgins. Pitt plays the titular Jackie Cogan, a mob enforcer who has to track down the culprits after a high stakes poker game under mafia protection is robbed.

Filming begins in New Orleans this March. Look for “Cogan’s Trade” to hit theaters in late 2011 or early 2012.
