More Star Trek 11 Time Travel Plot Rumors

By Nix | November 12, 2007 (11:29 am)

Try as he might, poor J.J. Abrams is going to learn that he can’t keep the Internet geeks out of his head forever. Sooner or later, they will find a way in, and once in, all his secrets will pour out. Come on, J.J., didn’t you learn ANYTHING from the debacle that was the “Cloverfield” mess? The more you try to keep it from us, the more we want to know. Muahahahhahahahaha. But I digress. Abrams’ take on Star Trek is now the latest net craze, and rumors of the plot have been steadily leaking, most notably the time travel plotline. Here is the latest, and involves something that should be very familiar to fans of The Original Series.

From SyFy Portal:

According to a new rumor story, Nero and other Romulans from around the “Star Trek: The Next Generation” time period, head back in time through the Guardian of Forever and kill Chris Pine’s Kirk. Somehow, an older Spock played by Leonard Nimoy, becomes aware of this, and heads back in time himself, creating a face-to-face with his younger self, now played by “Heroes” Zachary Quinto.

Spock then tries to set everything right, but in the process, fans get a sort of rebooted story featuring the Enterprise, Capt. Christopher Pike and everyone else.

Kirk doesn’t just have a bit role in this film. He does get resurrected obviously, and we find him doing something that he only talked about in “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” — defeating the no-win cadet test scenario of the Kobayashi Maru.

So there you go. The Romulans use the Guardian of Forever to go back in time and whack Kirk. It’s then up to Spock to save his ass. Stupid humans.

Author Harlan Ellison, who wrote the original TOS episode “The Guardian of Forever” is fairly pissed about them using his ideas (which I guess he owns) in the film. So, we’ll see how this all pans out.

As for me, I think it’s a really cool idea and might work well on screen.

I thought Star Trek 11 was about the final battle with the Borg. STO(Star Trek online) apparently the Borg,Klingons and Romulins are all friends or defeted. Sugesting StarTrek 11 should or could be about the last big battle with the Borg. Perhaps they travle to the futre or voyager and the next generation go back in time. Just a thought.
