With one more month to go before Marc Webb’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” swings into theaters, the studio has begun to dole out the clips. Previously, you saw Emma Stone taking a Lizard-centric clip over to Jay Leno, and now here are two more clips, one featuring Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) trying to convince Denis Leary’s cop that there is a giant lizard running amok, and the other one, once again, featuring PP and Leary. Hey, guys, he’s swinging here! He’s swinging here! What’s the matta you!

“The Amazing Spider-Man” is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Also starring Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Sally Fields, Julianne Nicholson, Campbell Scott, Rhys Ifan, Irrfan Khan, Annie Parisse, and Chris Zylka.

The webslinger slings it July 3, 2012.

The quips while escaping the cops in the second clip were great. Can’t wait to see this film. Who should be the villain in the sequel? And what actor should play that character?

ELECTRO!!!! They could make an awesome dark Electro

Agreed! This is true Spidey! “I’m swinging here!!!”
I’d say for a sequel I have a short list of villains. The thing is hey have to be not only a physical threat but something that challenges Spidey.
I’d actually go with Kraven the Hunter played by none other than Dolph Lundgren. I would’ve said Mickey Rourke but after IM2 I doubt he’d do it. And if not Lundgren I’d use Oleg Taktarov from “Predators”
Another good villain would be Mysterio played by Adrien Brody.
I would suggest Rhino as a cameo where we see Spidey fighting and beating a new villain early in the film, only to have him escape for Spidey to fight him again. Nathan Jones would fit that part. But the game is using Rhino, and Scorpion too.

Electro would be good played by say Jackie Earl Haley or someone along those lines.

damn this is good, spiderman learning to swing….

  • kraven

the lizard is my all time fave spidey villian with sand man and doc oc a close second. i hope he steals the show and is dark as all shit. (electro i also totally dug, but thought they mucked him up in IM2). i am so sold on the new spidey kid in town. Kraven the hunter would be so hard to create but would be amazing if they could pull it off (maybe antonio banderas).
