Moss, Routh Join Unthinkable Cast

Written by Nix | October 6th, 2008 | 0 Comments |

What’s this “unthinkable” that the thriller “Unthinkable” is referring to? Rosie O’Donnell sleeping over at your house and refusing to leave? Good God, no. Tyra Banks demanding that you show her respect by doing that “you go girl” finger snap in front of your face for, like, an eternity? Dear God, that would be hell. No, the unthinkable in the movie is a nuclear bomb smuggled into the U.S. by terrorists, of course. It’s so unthinkable, that just thinking about it makes us hide under our desks. (Or in our closets, for those of you not fortunate enough to have desks.) The film was announced a while back, and will star Samuel L. Jackson. Now, Sam the Man has a new cast to work with: Brandon Routh, Carrie-Anne Moss, Gil Bellows, and Martin Donovan.

THR breaks down the casting:

Routh and Bellows play members of an FBI anti-terrorism team run by Agent Brody (Moss). With the help of a black-ops agent (Jackson), they’re assigned by an FBI director (Donovan) to interrogate an American Muslim man (Sheen) claiming to have nuclear bombs planted in three U.S. cities.

And no, we’re not talking about Martin Sheen as the terrorist wacko, although that would be kinda cool. From a fake President on TV to a fake Muslim terrorist in the movies? What acting chops! But no, instead it’s Michael Sheen, from the “Underworld” movies. (Also known as the guy who used to shack up with Kate Beckinsale before she dumped him for Len Wiseman. While they were both shooting “Underworld”, which was directed by Wiseman. You gotta love Hollywood.)

Gregor Jordan directs from a script by Oren Moverman and Peter Woodward. Production was supposed to be underway last month.

Below: If terrorists nuked America, the only thing that would survive would be cockroaches and … Superman?
