Movie Trailer: Aishwarya Rai in The Last Legion

It looks like the Weinstein Company is doing a pretty big push for “The Last Legion”, which is very surprising to me. Trailers for the movie are popping all over the place, and it basically gives away the film’s major plot twist right away — which is that the story is all one big origin of the King Arthur legend. I reviewed the film last month (read it here, including movie images), and found it to be lacking. It looked like a TV movie someone was trying to pass off as a feature-length film worthy of a theatrical release. I’m sorry to say that it’s not. Put this thing on TV (or the USA Network) and put commercials around it, and I can see it fitting in. But on the big screen? People are going to come away feeling gypped.

The plot:

As the Roman empire crumbles, young Romulus Augustus (Thomas Sangster) flees the city and embarks on a perilous voyage to Britain to track down a legion of supporters.

Starring Kevid McKidd, John Hannah, Iain Glen, Aishwarya Rai, Colin Firth, Peter Mullan, Ben Kingsley, Doug Lefler, and directed by Doug Lefler.

The only real reason to watch “The Last Legion” is for Aishwarya Rai:
