Yeah, it doesn’t exactly sound like it’s going to break box offices around the world, but it does have that “indie” vibe that could make it good. Or at least, funny in certain spots. And come on, how can a movie that features a scene where Jon Heder has some guy pop a pimple on his back, the pimple pops and sprays the guy in the face, NOT be funny? Okay, there are a lot of reasons why “Moving McAllister” might not be funny, but the trailer looks pretty decent, and anything with Rutger Hauer playing the straightman should be good for a laugh. I especially like the gag about the Japanese kid in the fast food joint. I don’t know why, but that just made me laugh out loud.
“With only four days until the bar exam, an utterly unprepared law intern, Rick Robinson (Gourley), is given a rare opportunity to score points with his boss, Maxwell McAllister (Hauer) and without thinking, commits to a favor he can’t afford.
Rick soon finds himself stuck in a grueling cross country road trip driving a rundown U-Haul truck carrying all his boss’s worldly possessions. To make matters worse, he is left in charge of Mr. McAllister’s bratty Hollywood-bound niece (Kunis), and her out-of-control pet pig.
Amidst hitch-hikers, breakdowns, and assorted local yokels, Rick finds love, life and maybe himself in this trans-American road trip from hell.”
Starring Jon Heder, Mila Kunis, Rutger Hauer and William Mapother, and directed by Andrew Black. There is no release date for “Moving McAllister” yet.
