Movie Trailer: My Sassy Girl (American Remake)

Well it’s finally here, kids, the (leaked) trailer for the American remake of the mega popular South Korean romcom “My Sassy Girl”, the 2001 movie that launched the international career of its star Jeon Ji-hyun and about a gazilion imitations in its native Korea. The remake has been around for seemingly forever, and stars Elisha Cuthbert as the sassy girl of the title (who actually has a name in this version) and Jesse Bradford as a Midwest yuppie in New York who she takes a liking to. And you know what? I could see why they remade this thing. If you hadn’t seen the original (and let’s face it, 99% of the people who goes to see this thing will never have even heard of the original), it could be a semi-decent young-adult romantic comedy.

Awkward shy guy finds himself falling in love with a free-spirited girl he meets on the subway. The two are far from a perfect match, but our shy guy can’t get enough of her crazy antics.

Starring Elisha Cuthbert, Jesse Bradford, William Abadie, Austin Basis, Filippo Bozotti, and directed by Yann Samuell.

Since the trailer is a leaked one, there is no release date for the film yet. (Again, this thing seems to have been stuck in post-production for ages…)

You know what guys.. this might actually be better than i expect.. not better then the original.. but better than my low expectation.. lets see.. it does look fairly romantic.. seems quite funny.. and she got a name? ok.. but i can understand why.. although the scenes doesn’t completely replicate the original scenes but they did come close.. lets hope for the best..
