Christian Bale and Russell Crowe do cowboys and outlaws, and it’s a dandy. Yahoo! Movies is hosting your first look at the Bale/Crowe western “3:10 to Yuma”. In it, Crowe plays a notorious outlaw who is captured (thanks to Bale’s tracking skills), and it’s up to Bale and a select few (including Bale’s son!) to take the outlaw to his destination — the 3:10 train to Yuma. Of course, Crowe’s men are on their tail, and if you’ve seen any number of movies, you know that Bale and Crowe are destined to partner up to fight Crowe’s old gang. Heck, you can even see that toward the end of the trailer.
Even so, this looks like a killer movie — literally.
A rancher struggles to support his ranch and family during a long drought. Desperately needing money to build a well, he takes an assignment to transport a notorious felon, in the hands of authorities, to Yuma for imprisonment. But, once the two meet, the criminal tries to tempt him with–in exchange for allowing him to escape–an offer of much more money than the rancher ever expected, the result of a hidden loot.
Starring Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Alan Tudyk, Peter Fonda, Gretchen Mol, and directed by James Mangold.
Ride into the sunset in a blaze of glory October 5, 2007.
Head over to Yahoo! Movies to see the trailer now. I’ll add the YouTube version when it becomes available.
