Movie Trailer: Spanish Martial Arts Movie Extremo

Extremo (2008) Movie — By Nix on March 3, 2008

Okay, here’s the thing. The acting in this Spanish martial arts movie, “Extremo”, looks atrocious. And I don’t even speak Spanish, but even I can tell these guys don’t spend their summers doing Shakespeare in the park. But hey, it’s an action movie — a Spanish martial arts movie, at that — so what’s there to complain about? The action in the trailer (below) certainly looks bad-ass enough. And did I mention it’s probably the first martial arts movie to come out of Spain in, like, ever?

More:

Nacho and Teo, two very close friends living in an orphanage, are always getting in trouble. Though they sealed a blood pact to be friends for life, soon Teo is adopted by a Japanese couple and Nacho stays behind in the orphanage. Twenty years later, Teo is now a celebrated businessman bodyguard in Barcelona after escaping from the Japanese mafia. Nacho, now a rich man into a lot of shady businesses, has become an occasional street fighter in betting fights. When they meet up again by chance, things will not turn out to be the way they would have expected…

The star is Teo García, and he’s a real martial artist, which is probably why “Extremo” is going to look fantastic — just ignore the dialogue and “plot”. According to KFC, the film is budgeted at $3 million and $9 million, so this ain’t no backyard production.
