Movie Trailer: The Grand

I hadn’t even heard of Zak Penn’s “The Grand” until I stumbled across the trailer over at Yahoo! Movies. It’s a comedy set in the world of poker, and if you’ve watched any amount of poker, you’ll recognize the faces that populate the trailer, from the Unabomber to Doyle Brunson to Daniel Negreanu. And it looks pretty funny, too, but all the cameos by real poker pros will just make this movie for poker lovers.

Set around an international poker tournament. A middle-aged guy goes all-in to save his dead grandfather’s hotel-casino from a real estate developer. His master plan is to win the world’s most famous high stakes tournament, the Grand Championship of Poker.

Starring Werner Herzog, Richard Kind, Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta and Ray Romano, and directed by Zak Penn.
