She was a normal high school girl in Japan, until the Yakuza and some funky ninjas in red decided to kill her family and cut off her left hand. No, really. What’s a high school girl to do? Well, for one, she had the stump cauterized, before finding someone to create a groovy machinegun right for her ala Ash in “Evil Dead”, and then she went after the bad guys, of course. What, you couldn’t guess?
Fangoria has more about the film:
Iguchi’s movie, which Morano describes as “manga-style and over-the top, is about a teenager named Ami who sets out for revenge on a gang of bullies who tortured her little brother to death. She winds up losing an arm along the way, and replaces it with a high-powered gun, à la Rose McGowan in GRINDHOUSE. But she doesn’t stop at one limb; Ami continues to lose body parts and replacing them with more weapons, until she becomes “a walking, talking arsenal,” according to Morano.
Much bloodletting, head cutting, and guillotine flying ensue. It’s fun had by all. Well, except the guys who lost their heads or arms or both, of course. Originally found here.
