Movie Trailer: The Mummy 3

So here it is, as promised by director Rob Cohen — the first trailer for the third installment (some would say, fourth) in “The Mummy” franchise, “Tomb of the Dragon Emperor”. Gone is original director Stephen Sommer, and replaced by Cohen, who has been keeping a very nice and thorough production blog on the film from its inception to its conclusion. I’ve always been a fan of the “Mummy” movies because they’ve always been goofy, clean fun. Plus, it’s good to see Brendan Fraser in a movie that’ll make more than $2 bucks at the box office again.

Curiously, I can’t tell from the trailer if Mario Bello’s British accent is any good…

In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick and Alex O’Connell unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin — a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard centuries ago.

Starring Jet Li in his second villain role, returning star Brendan Fraser and John Hannah, replacement babe Maria Bello, and new faces Luke Ford, Michelle Yeoh, Russell Wong, and Isabella Leong.

Catch Jet Li as the Dragon Emperor on August 1, 2008.
