Movie Trailer: Uwe Boll’s Far Cry

By Nix | February 14, 2008 (11:00 am)

It’s not that I’m trying to turn the site into some movie trailer site, but it just so happens that last night and today a lot of trailers are showing up. In any case, the latest is for Uwe Boll’s videogame adaptation of “Far Cry”, a FPS that I happen to really enjoy, so Uwe better not screw this one up. Oh, who am I kidding. Witness the slaughter. (And I ain’t talking about the killing in the movie.)

Jack Carver, a retired Ocean Patrol officer, transports tourists and small cargo to remote islands on his boat. After bringing a female reporter to an uncharted island in Micronesia, all hell breaks loose: His boat is blown up, he is left for dead, and the reporter is kidnapped. Carver must embark on a rescue mission into an island inhabited by mercenaries protecting a secret genetic research lab.

Starring Til Schweiger, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Michael Paré, Ralph Moeller, Natalie Avelon, and directed by Uwe Boll.

Ugh. I guess it’s a little hard to make a decent movie out of a FPS game, but I didn’t expect a campy take on “Universal Soldier”.

I swear that looked like a parody of a serious film.

I thought his source of budget left him? Where’d he get the money for this?

I’m guessing, but this is probably one of the older films Boll had in the pipe before his German funding dried up recently. Along with Postal, Dungeon Seige, etc. So he had the funding down a while ago.
