Naomi Watts Updates The Birds Remake

I list the remake of “The Birds” as a horror film, but really, how scary is a flock of birds attacking people? Okay, if you were being attacked, I guess it might be pretty scary. Damn birds and their sharp beaks. Especially when they’re coming for your eyes. Ouch. Anyways, Naomi Watts recently talked with Shock Til You Drop and filled them in on the status of “The Birds” remake, which she’ll star, and be directed by former Bond dude Martin Campbell.
Here’s what Watts had to say about the state of the project:
“It’s a work-in-progress at this point,” she says. “I think it’s a wonderful film. There are great things in it that interest me. The script isn’t completely there yet, it probably won’t happen until next year.”
Eh, I could do without a remake of “The Birds”, but to each his own. When birds attack, no one wins. Well, except maybe the bird wranglers, I guess…

I don’t see a point in remaking this movie either. There was no point in redoing “Psycho” and there is no point in remaking “The Birds” unless it’s going to be very different.
