Add former “The Tudors” star Natalie Dormer to the cast of ABC’s period crime procedural “Poe”, which will find former “Kings” man Christopher Egan playing the titular horror writer, who also happens to be “the world’s first detective” in Boston during the 1840s. That imagination should come in handy when he starts investigating bizarre crimes that, one presumes, leaves the “regular” cops baffled.
Dormer will play a character name Celeste, though who Celeste is or what she does, is currently unknown. She joins a cast that already includes Kevin McNally, “Legend of the Seeker’s” Tabrett Bethell (playing Poe’s “muse”), and Leslie Odom Jr. as Poe’s forensics partner.
The show is from producer/writer Chris Hollier, with Alex Graves directing the pilot.
