“Mockingbird Lane”, aka “The Munsters” reboot, has been at work over at NBC for quite some time under the tutelage of former “Heroes” writer and “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller. The show hasn’t, uh, had it easy, and now it appears rumors of its cancellation before it even airs is true. But of course, that still leaves NBC with a $10 million dollar pilot episode that was directed by “X-Men’s” Bryan Singer.
$10 million is a lot of money, so the network has decided to make use of the pilot — they will air it as a “special” later this month during Halloween. Which, I guess, is kind of appropriate given the show’s monsters-among-us storyline.
After that, you probably won’t be seeing anymore of “Mockingbird Lane”, but hey, at least you’ll get a snippet of Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily Munster and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa. That’s better than nothing, right?
By the way, were people actually looking forward to this show? I can’t imagine why…
