NBC’s Dracula Adds Merlin’s Katie McGrath and Game of Thrones’ Nonso Anozie

Katie McGrath in MERLINNBC’s “Dracula” TV mini-series is getting a little magical assistance from “Merlin’s” Katie McGrath, who has joined the show along with “Game of Thrones'” Nonso Anozie.

The two join “Dracula’s” two leads, Jonathan Rhys Meyer and Jessica De Gouw (“Arrow”), with Meyer set to play the titular character Dracula, who “arrives in London, posing as American entrepreneur Alan Grayson who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier but falls hopelessly in love with Mina Murray (De Gouw) who appears to be the reincarnation of his dead wife.”

McGrath will play Lucy Westenra, described as “Aristocratic London’s sexy, social butterfly and Mina’s best friend who has a penchant for gossip, flirting and all things glamorous.” McGrath has spent the last five seasons on “Merlin”, where she plays Morgana to Colin Morgan’s titular Merlin.

Anozie, meanwhile, will play R.M. Renfield, Alan Grayson’s “fiercely loyal confidante.” Oh, Renfield, I don’t think you’re going to end up very happy in our little tale, alas. Anozie was also recently in the “Conan The Barbarian” reboot with Jason Momoa.

“Dracula” is a 10-episode mini-series and NBC/Sky Living co-production set to shoot sometime this year on location in London, England.
