The best show on basic cable, the FX Channel’s “Justified” has added two baddies to its Season 3 roster in former “Band of Brothers” star Neal McDonough and “24’s” Mykelti Williamson. Although from the description, only one of them will be a true baddie, while the other may only be a sorta-baddie.
McDonough, who was one of the stars of “Justified” creator Graham Yost’s canceled “Boomtown” (damn I miss that show), not to mention the recent “Captain America: The First Avenger”, will play “Quarles, a Detroit mobster in a sharp suit who comes to Kentucky with visions of becoming a crimelord.” He’s definitely a baddie, alright.
Williamson, meanwhile, will play “Limehouse, a man who lives in a small black town in Harlan County and who will do whatever it takes, legal or otherwise, to protect his holler.” This one is a sorta baddie. As you’ll learn if you’re new to the “Justified” universe, bad guys aren’t always bad guys.
Unlike most shows on TV, “Justified” does things a little differently, with each season introducing and completing a new villain arc. Season 2 offered up the very complex Mags Bennett (played by the great Margo Martindale, who has gone on to co-star in the oddball “A Gifted Man” series), who, alas, won’t be around for Season 3.
If “Justified” sticks to its previous two years pattern, Season 3 will most likely premiere sometime in January 2012.
