The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Game Image

I’ve been a fan of the Elder Scrolls series for several long years now, having sunk an extremely large portion of my life into the mythology surrounding this truly epic and highly addictive RPG console series. The countless hours that have been lost wandering the dangerous landscape of “Oblivion” is truly embarrassing; in fact, I think I’ll refrain from divulging just how much time I’ve played this series altogether, as I don’t want people to think I’m some sort of pasty shut-in who spends his days and nights pretending he’s a large cat-like creature with the ability to effortlessly craft healing potions and repair extremely damaged equipment. Which, of course, I frequently do.

Lurking below is the teaser trailer for “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim”, which will hit retails shelves on November 11th, 2011. That’s right: 11-11-11. And while I still haven’t scratched the virtual surface of everything there is to offer in “Fallout: New Vegas”, I’m ready and willing to dive head-first into the latest offering from Bethesda, a company that earns every freaking penny I spend on their software. If you’re a raging geek and an unapologetic fan of “The Elder Scrolls” franchise, you should genuinely appreciate the clip you’re about to watch. The rest of you, I’m afraid, will be understandably confused.

Enjoy!

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.

Coolest transition from title to date ever! I still haven’t really played much of Oblivion but can appreciate this franchise as one of the last remaining things to have hope for in gaming.

i just hope they finally make horse mounted combat possible.

ie: take a lesson from the mount&blade guys who made horse mounted combat so darn friggin awesome..

maybe that way, i will no longer abuse the “fast travel” function and just opt to battle across the countryside while riding my friggin’ horse..

also, the unmodded henchmen in oblivion has crappy AI.
you can’t change their equipment, upgrade their stats, and you can’t assign them battle tactics. (though you can change their equipment via cheatcodes)

they’re little more than meat shields..

so yea bethesda i hope you’re listening..

and oh yea.. sniper headshot decapitations should also be available.. just like fable..
the bloody mess perk from fallout 3 is also awesome..

severed limbs and scattered bloody intestines is a definite win..

and the ability to demolish buildings like they did in red faction: guerrilla is hands down
    glorious!!

and oh yea.. wall climbing and more action oriented combat like they did in prototype
    is also a win..

and maybe able to fight gigantic creatures like the scale of the boss monsters that you fight in monster hunter..

are you guys thinking of the same epic game i’m thinking?
