New 60-second TV spot for Quentin Tarantino’s sure to be bloody Western “Django Unchained”. New spot, same pronunciation of the man’s name. That’s with a silent “d” in case you forgot. Also, more looks at Samuel L. Jackson as the man behind The Man, if you will. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a 5-minute monologue about how a slave ended up being in a position of power. I reckon it will probably involve clever wordplay. I could be wrong, of course.
Jamie Foxx plays Django, a slave-turned-bounty hunter who sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner played by a sleazy Leonardo DiCaprio. “Inglourious Basterds'” Christoph Waltz plays the mentor who teaches Django the killin’ trade. Killin’ white folks and getting paid for it? Not a bad gig if you can get’em.
Also starring Kerry Washington, Walton Goggins, Don Johnson, RZA, Gerald McRaney, Anthony LaPaglia, James Russo, M.C. Gainey, and unchaining in theaters December 25, 2012.
