New Batch of Images from the New X-Men Anime TV Series

Marvel has released a new batch of images, including screenshots and concept artwork of the various characters, from their upcoming “X-Men” anime TV series. The show will be premiering over the ocean in Japan next month, before heading Stateside this summer via the G4 cable network along with Marvel’s other Japanese-based properties, “Iron Man”, “Wolverine”, and “Blade”.

The X-Men are reunited following the death of a teammate, and are summoned by Charles Xavier to Japan following the abduction of Hisako Ichiki (Armor). There, they confront the U-Men, a lunatic cult that steals and transplants mutant organs to further strengthen their own army, and the battle for justice is on.

Just an observation, but man, Cyclops is looking a little, er, interesting. I guess they needed someone to balance out Wolverine’s “too manly” feral looks. Or something.

The show premieres on Animax in Japan beginning April 1st.

    I know this is supposed to be stylized and all that… but is Marvel bent on having their characters chewed up and spit out in whatever form makes them a buck?

    Loving the look actually. I mean other than the emo look on Cyclops the look are very close to stuff the characters would wear. I mean if anything they’re going for the look Cyclops had in the comics right before and during the New X-men run. They tried to make him look a bit cooler with the hair and thin visor, and the the jacket look works for him but the poses are killing me. Beast I really like and Armor, Wolverine, and Storm look great. I really think they tried to do a lil bit comic and a lil bit movie with the look.

    Guys the first episode is out, and it’s friggin great. Japan has made Cyclops one of the most awesome superhero on earth.
