Behold a huge new batch of brown-tinted “John Carter” image! Sheesh. Is Mars really this … brown? That’s a lot of brown. Good thing there are lots of green-skinned, four-armed alien dudes running around, otherwise this movie would be all brown-out, as it were. Anyways, take a gander at a new batch of images from the Andrew Stanton film, which, from what I hear, is having trouble generating interest among moviegoers. I guess those four clips from the movie we posted recently didn’t do the trick.
I wonder if the lack of interest towards the big-budgeted film has anything to do with removing “Mars” from the title? After all, it’s not like “John Carter” is on the level of, say, “Rocky” or “Rambo”. At least with Mars in the title you let people know there will be alien shenanigans afoot. What does “John Carter” tell you? It’s a movie about a guy name John Carter. Huh. Not much there, I’m afraid.
“John Carter” (sans “Mars”) stars Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Hayden Church, and Willem Dafoe.
Saving Mars without mentioning Mars March 9, 2012.
