Is it just me? Why does the new “Punisher” movie look like the entire thing takes place in some weird vampire nightclub in a seedy section of New York? Mind you, not that I’ve ever been to such a place, but the whole color scheme of “Punisher: War Zone” looks … off. What is this, a bad MTV music video for the latest crappy pop music sensation or a sequel to a movie about a badass killing machine with a skull on his chest? I guess we’ll find out when Frank Castle dishes out some punishment come this December. Until then, check out a fresh new batch of “Punisher: War Zone” images, featuring our first looks at bad guy Jigsaw in all his ugly glory and Julie Benz.
Yeah, doesn’t exactly make me jump with joy, either, especially Jigsaw. Wow. The first words that came to mind when I saw these official looks at Jigsaw were, “And then hilarity ensues.” Somehow, I don’t think that’s what director Lexi Alexander was going for…
Waging his one-man war on the world of organized crime, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias: Jigsaw. With the “Punisher Task Force” hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished.
Starring Julie Benz, Dominic West, Ray Stevenson, Dash Mihok, Wayne Knight, Doug Hutchison, Colin Salmon, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, T.J. Storm, David Vadim, Larry Day, and directed by Lexi Alexander.
