At one point, Julianne Moore’s amusingly fanatical bible thumping mom literally THUMPS poor Chloe Moretz’s Carrie on the forehead with the bible. Now that’s taking things literally! I can imagine lots of laughter during this scene. I know I nearly busted a gut when it showed up during this new featurette for the Kimberly Peirce reboot of “Carrie”.
It’s funny that they’re not even trying to hide the film’s big scene at the prom in any of the teaser or trailers, or this featurette. I guess pretty much everyone knows what happens in “Carrie” that there’s just no point. Sort of like Bruce Willis in “The Sixth Sense”. Even people who have never seen the movie have heard/know about the twist.
Check out the featurette (via Apple) and some new images from the movie below.
A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloe Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
Starring “Kick-Ass’s” Chloë Grace Moretz, with Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, and Ansel Elgort.
Carrie takes a thumpin’ this October 18th.
