Lionsgate has sent over a clip from their upcoming remake of the Pang Brothers’ “Bangkok Dangerous”, starring Nicolas Cage as a hitman who travels to Thailand and, instead of spending all his time and money in Bangkok’s red light district like any other normal male, he spends them trying to knock people off. But hey, that’s what makes it a movie and not my summer vacation from two years ago, am I right? What kind of movie would this be if all we got to do was watch Cage drink himself silly and whore around? Heck, if he did that, he would … win an Oscar? Oh right, “Bangkok Dangerous”. Clip and new image from the flick below.
BANGKOK DANGEROUS is an adrenaline-powered thriller staring Nicholas Cage as an anonymous assassin who takes an unexpected turn when he travels to Thailand to complete a series of contract killings. Directors Oxide Pang and Danny Pang (The Eye) paint an explosive picture of the Bangkok underworld, illuminated with neon and saturated in violence. Based on the Pang Brothers’ wildly popular Hong Kong action film of the same name BANGKOK DANGEROUS is written by Jason Richman.
It gets real dangerous September 5.
