I have to say, Shia LaBeouf’s “Eagle Eye” has the makings of a sleeper hit in 2008. Much like another LaBeouf-D.J. Caruso collaboration, last year’s “Disturbia” surprised everyone by making a lot of money when no one really expected it to. Of course, Shia’s fanbase will be in a bit of a shock when they see their leading man unexpectedly playing a — gulp! — adult male character. We shall see how the kids react, but I’m already liking everything I’ve seen from the movie, including these new batch of images.

A young slacker (Shia LaBeouf) and a single mom (Michelle Monaghan) are forced to become involved in a terrorist cell plotting a political assassination; meanwhile, the FBI (led by Billy Bob Thornton), believing the two are involved, are chasing them.

Starring Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson, Billy Bob Thornton, Ethan Embry, Eric Christian Olsen, Michael Chiklis, Anthony Mackie, Madylin Sweeten. D.J. Caruso (”Disturbia”) directs.
